Subject: Press release -- where there is no HIV testing, exclusive
breastfeeding is an aid in reducing child mortality

Dear Colleagues:

"World missing opportunity to reduce mother-to-child HIV transmission
through exclusive breastfeeding"
http://www.unicef.org/media/media_24034.html

This UNICEF press release developed in collaboration with Ngashi Ngongo,
PMTCT focal point, cautions the need for improved infant feeding counseling
when a woman knows she is HIV positive, and raises the issue of the
importance of exclusive breastfeeding where status is unknown.

Thank you for your input into this field of interest.

Sincerely,
M
