I'm really on a roll today.

I am a one-sided nurser due to burn injury.

At the present time I am also pregnant and the issue of twins has not been
ruled out. So I guess I have a vested interest in all the responses.

I can tell you that when it comes to supply and demand that the breast
always does it's job for me. Some days a little too much for one babe.
Which gives me the confidence that if this pregnancy is twins I will go
ahead and just nurse them. I would not bring formula into the house "just
in case".

I think that the birth experience will play a big part in the breastfeeding
success, and the help she recieves immediately postpartum. I personally
would recommend that she have someone with her at all times while in
hospital and when she gets home ( I myself will be birthing at home). If
she finds herself stranded in any way it will be too easy to tun to the
alternative or accept unwarrented bottlefeeding advice.

The stress of twins will be enough to weaken her resolve to breastfeed, and
leave her open to lack of confidence in her ability. Support, Support,
Support!!! I perservered through a bout of mastitis in my producing breast
when baby one week old, it will take a lot more for a mom with twins to get
through mastitis.

This is a perfect case of where an ounce of prevention will be worth a pound
of cure.

Well thats my $0.02.
