A few more general words of advice about THE TEST from Coach Smith:

"Think horses, not zebras" is exactly right. Each question only tests ONE
concept, which is NOT like most breastfeeding situations we deal with in
daily work! Look for the most obvious answer. The exam tests knowledge of
the MOST fundamental principles, not esoteric trivia.

Nobody has ever scored 100%. (Nope, not me either.) You're gonna miss some
questions, and smack your forehead saying DUH afterward. There will be some
flawed questions which will be eliminated by the testing experts before the
final scoring. You'll probably obsess over those, even though some won't
matter in the final scoring. (Read Dr. Gross's reports on the IBLCE site if
you're curious about test construction or scoring). Trust your knowledge of
mothers and babies. Nobody's going to rap you on the knuckles with a ruler
if you get some questions wrong. You only have to PASS.

One more time: DO NOT CRAM. Put your books away several days before the exam
and DO NOT OPEN THEM AGAIN TILL AFTERWARD.

Disclaimer: several messages have referred to my book. I only see the real
exam questions when I recertify (last time was 2001), and I rigorously
uphold exam security. I might have over- or under-represented some topics in
my book, and my practice questions may be easier or harder than the "real"
ones. Please don't rely on any ONE book as your ONLY study tool!
