I'd like to know what those " comfort proteins" are also... but I love the
ad just because it gives me such a great tool to use when I teach High
School students about breastfeeding. I always point this ad out and ask
them what they see. They all reflect on the happy baby with butterflies and
flowers floating from its tummy. Then I ask them to look at the ad in a
different light and not take it at face value. If the formula is soo good
and soo natural for this baby's tummy... why do they have to "add" comfort
proteins? Is it because the formula would cause the baby such stomach
distress because its NOT something its body was designed to tolorate? And
what about the other formula ads? Since they don't add "comfort proteins-
does this mean that you'll be feeding your baby something that might cause
tummy distress? I follow up with the facts that the good news is that
breastmilk is such a truely natural product that no one has to add anything
to help keep a baby from having such stomach issues. It makes the kids
look at the ads again- just like the one's for various sodas and stuff that
show your cool and hip if you drink xyz brand of soda- I tell them to be
smart consumers and not let sales promoted ads numb their common sense!
