What are the current recommendations for infants with
infrequent, but occasionally large amounts of mucous
noted in infant stools?
Any research on infant stools while teething due to
excessive saliva and the effect on GI absorbtion?

When I say infrequent I mean, stools in an exclusively
breastfed infant which are normally green (not frothy)
or yellow but on occasion will be extremely
mucosy/slimy.
One instance noted there were small streaks of blood
mixed in the stool.

This is in reference for a mom with an infant who is
about 5 months old, appears to be teething (with large
amounts of saliva/drooling), otherwise healthy and
gaining weight without problems.

Infant, birth weight 10lbs and now 5 months is 19lbs.
No solids/cereal to date.

Thanks for your recommendations,
