I have a Hewlett Packard Photosmart 215.  After doing my homework, I found
this to be a nice little camera.  It is on the cheaper side but has enough
extras to make it very useable in a variety of situations.  While less
expensive it is not the cheapest you can buy at all.  I think it is a good
beginner camera for someone who wants to get serious after some practice.
It has macro (for close ups), timer, etc.
