If mom's supply is good she might want to enrich her milk by using Paula Meiers method of mother's milk engineering and use fatrich hindmilk to feed her baby. She will be able to avoid using non-human milk at all that way.
Warmly,
Gonneke,
IBCLC, LLLL, MOM in southern Netherlands

I would like to clearify this situation. To feed premature(33wk 1500g) baby would breast milk mixed with poweder formula be safe?? Specially powder formula being unsterile wouldn't that put baby to risk? and also wouldn't powder formula decrease the lysomzyme activity of the breast milk??

I have a mom who has great milk supply. I am encouraging her to collect hind milk to feed this premature baby . My co-worker wants to add powder formula to make it rich. we don;t have fortifier in our hospital right now.
can you guide me find info to clearify this situation.
