Hello wise ones,

Once again I'm looking for you experience. One of my students asked if
there's any kind of relationship between wheat and cradle cap? She found
that she has a mild intolerance to wheat products - if she eats too much
wheat (for example, a piece of bread every day), she finds that she gets
pimples and also develops dandruff. She did eat a lot of wheat while she
was pregnant, and her baby was born with a mild case of cradle cap. They
did not determine the wheat allergy was present until a few months
postpartum, so her baby was taking breastmilk produced while she ate wheat
products. From everything she's read, cradle cap is not considered to be an
allergy and has nothing to do with maternal diet. But since wheat causes a
scalp condition in her, she's wondering if it seems possible that it may
have led to her childs' cradle cap. (He still does have some flakiness, but
he has so much hair that it is quite difficult to determine the extent). He
does eat wheat products now - toast is one of his favortie foods.

Both of us are wondering if there's someone out there with information on this.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Renate.
