About the super thrush: Good that it looks like you cleared the thrush in both baby and Mom, but there may have been a dual problem going on here. Often times Moms complain of nipple pain . . .even burning and sharp pains in the breast during and after feeds when the latch isn't quite right. The nerves in the nipple and breast can be irritated and 'inflamed' from an incorrect latch on, or from just 'phantom pains' that are real but the memory is still there. It kind of compares to an amputee that still feels his limb. Recheck the latch and once it's optimal, encourage Mom to hold baby snug to the breast while feeding, using pillows or support to avoid fatigue.
