Dr. Doren Fredrickson (MD, PhD, Univ. of Kansas School of Medicine) did
research showing that for every month of exclusive breastfeeding, you reduce
the risk of SIDS by 50%.  So if you start with 1/500 (rate at the time of
his research), then by 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding, the rate is down
to 1/32,000.  Dr. Fredrickson's research is discussed in "Breastfeeding:
Biocultural Perspectives."  Sounds like the good doctor Keens hasn't been
doing his homework.  Shame on him.
