This is my first time posting on LACTNET. I once had a similar reaction
after being injected with Novocaine or a similar anaesthetic - heart racing,
difficulty breathing, felt like a heart attack. It seems the dentist
accidentally injected the anaesthetic into the "wrong place" and it was
absorbed directly into the bloodstream. The dentist said this happens
occasionally. I wonder if this woman may be having some reaction or allergy
to the Novocaine.
Incidentally, I never trusted the dentist after that experience and
switched to someone else. I became more frightened of the Novocaine than the
dental procedure!
