What about the Diabetes educator. Usually an RN with a certification in
diabetes education. They see patient for teaching / training . We have an
active diabetes education dept and our educator does see newly diagnosed
patients, or doctors refer to her.

Another model might be the enterostomal therapist in the hospital who sees
patients on an inpatient basis mostly.
The diabetes educator most likely sees more outpatients I would think.

There must be a hospital charge assoc. with this.
