Catherine Watson Genna;
Thanks for the info but the Mom sent me a list of what is probably causing
her daughters tooth decay. Thanks for your ideas but:
- she brushes her teeth twice daily and has since the teeth erupted. (now
doing 3 times daily)
- no fever or illness during pregnancy, plus her oldest had the same
problems.
- she has not used any supp iron, she made all baby food from scratch, even
rice cereal
You were right - shared food did cause the colonization.
Other stuff the mom has on her list as causes includes:
- low saliva flow
- inhalent allergies so baby sleeps open mouthed
- antibiotic use for group b strep before the baby's homebirth
- didn't eat dairy products during pregnancy due to family food allergies
Thanks again!
Rachael Barlow
