I am also skeptical about whether "growth spurts" actually exist at
certain set ages. I did not observe them with my own three children,
who simply nursed a lot, day in and day out, perhaps more on some
days and less on others. I prefer the term "frequency days" over
"growth spurts" because of the latter's unfounded implications. But
neither term is really satisfactory.

Counting the Dutch term meaning "rescheduling days", that is now
three different descriptive terms, each with its own implied reason,
for the observation that some days babies want to nurse a lot more
than usual.

Is culture at work here?
