Hello,
I have only recently joined LACTNET and must say it's not only informative
but entertaining. I work at small hospital in NE Mass that does 500-600
births a year. We are in the process of instituting Mom/baby and 'closing'
our NBN. I feel that all of you who have written about newborn nurseries have
been in on the conversations here because they are all the same. All our
pedis must have gone to the same school--same complaint. Insecurity? Also, I
feel my hospital is actually progressive in some areas, such as: blood
glucoses (done only with specific criteria), bottle feeding our bf babies (a
battle but gradually improving) and encouraging co-sleeping. Thanks for the
information about all of your facilities I am finding it most useful for
myself.

Sincerely,
Jolenne Short-Porter, RNC, IBCLC
