Dear Kathy,

Again, you remind me to stick to the facts and not be flustered, by my
students, into thinking that what I am trying to teach is out of the
ordinary. I have so many mothers who say, "Oh, I just couldn't let my new
baby be 'spoiled' and sleep in my bed, even from the beginning, because
they'll never want to leave! I've seen this in my sisters (friend,
co-worker, fill in the blank) kids and it is just awful, they run her life!"

Then, I back down and tell them that, of course, it is up to them, and that
this is still the natural way to do things. But, I always make it clear
that letting a baby 'cry it out', is not a good thing to try.

Time, for me, to get out your book again and do some refreshing.

Thanks,

Cheryl Marian, CLC, CLE
(Still family bedding with Camden(5) and Gaston(4). Daddy is not always so
happy about it, so I carry them into their own room (when they're asleep) so
that daddy and I can snuggle too.)
