I'm scrolling through Lactnet messages this morning and I didn't see an
answer to this -- am I the only one using Go-Lacta? Yes, I have some
experience with it. For the most part it's been quite positive. In
most of the moms it's hard to say just how much effect it's had because
they've started taking it in combination with doing other things to
increase their milk supply (like extra pumping). A few have done
nothing different than the Go-Lacta and seen a substantial increase.
One of our LCs who's nursing a two year old started taking it without
changing their nursing habits and noticed a definite increased sensation
of letdown and more gulping in her son. Of the dozen or so that I've
suggested it to, the only ones who didn't see an increase were two of
our nurses who were pumping at work, but they only took the samples I
gave them--enough for a few days and it may not have been enough to see
a difference. I think it has great potential, and seems to be
incredibly safe since it's used as a food supplement in much of the world.
