LASIK is generally not recommended while pregnant or nursing because the eyes
can change due to the hormones. Does this mother know that after she weans
she might end up with not perfect vision? My Dr. wouldn't do mine till a few
months after my daughter weaned. And, I'm not sure why she wouldn't be able
to nurse on the meds they give you after. In my case, they were all eye
drops. And, I was on them for 7 days. One was simply an antibiotic. One might
have been an antiinflamitory. Another, I believe, was a steroid. Maybe you
could search for those meds in their non occular form? Shortly after my
LASIK, I had a retinal detachment and ended up with surgery for a scleral
buckle. I wasn't nursing at the time, but just out of curiousity, I searched
for info on those meds and nursing. They were all ok. They were a dilator,
antibiotic, and a steroid. (Those I had to use for well over 6 weeks)
