I think you did a fine job in making recommendations to 1) give baby the
breastmilk in a bottle, 2) hold baby during feedings to make him feel
secure, and 3) allow baby to self-regulate his intake and not make him
finish every bottle. Sometimes, when you accept people and they know you
are not there to yell at them, they do change behaviors such as you
described. Sometimes it's surprising. I always TRY to remember that each
person is doing the very best they can do. So don't give up; you may find
that 3 months down the line, baby is breastfeeding because "she cried and
cried for the breast"!
