There seems to be some surprise about the lot of bf moms who've had cesareans in some hospitals previousely mentioned. In our local "Baby-Friendly" hospital (I mean with the official status), I had a client a couple of weeks ago who was only allowed one hand free to hold her baby after a cesarean and then told by a nurse in Recovery that bf was "discouraged" until the meds had been able to wear off. Then, when she and baby were brought to their room, dad said "they wheeled the baby off for a bath so fast, we didn't realize what was happening" and he just had time to run off after her so she wouldn't be alone. She came back sound asleep, of course. BTW, mom ignored the nurse and offered the breast in Recovery b/c this was her second baby and she was trying to avoid the kind of problems she had with her first baby.
