Hi Michelle,
yes in my clinic we regularly recommend probiotics, in cases where mother or baby have had antibiotics, and baby unsettled. Also in cases where may be some food intolerances in mother or baby.
We suggest any probiotics, not a particular brand. But for your interest I will attach a journal article from Pediatrics in 2007 regarding L. reuteri. Unfortunately this study was sponsored by Gaia who owns Blackmores, which in Australia seems to be the only way to access L.Reuteri.
Would be interested in hearing others thoughts on this topic.
