I don't think there is anything wrong with this baby. He is active, ahead of
the game in terms of his development (crawling, standing, walking on
furniture at six months!) and smiley and happy. And after all, he has almost
doubled his weight in six months.

Weight is only one factor to look at!! It is common for babies to slow down
in their weight gain as they become more mobile, and it sounds like this is
what has happened here.

We are getting increasing evidence that overfeeding babies is a major
problem in terms of later health. If this baby is happy and healthy at this
rate of growth, then forcing him to eat more calories is only going to
over-feed him, potentially leading to later obesity, heart disease and other
problems.

I think this mother is right and she should keep on nursing and listening to
her baby who sounds as though he is healthy and doing just fine.

almost a year to double her birth weight but who was just fine)
