I don't get this at all either. I don't get mad about anti-fast food
information, even though I feed my kids fast food sometimes. It does
make me feel guilty, but I probably should feel guilty about the
amount of fast food we consume! Guilt is what you feel when you know
you are doing something that is not best for your child, out of
convenience for yourself. If it is truly impossible for you to
breastfeed because your workplace is not supportive of pumping, anger
and despair are the real emotions. I can understand being angry at
the government for promoting breastfeeding while not doing anything
to make it easier to be successful. But whining about the guilt
issue is such a red herring. The people who should feel guilty
usually don't, while the people who should feel angry or sad have
been told they feel "guilt," implying that it is their fault [insert
plug for Diane Wiessinger's "Watch Your Language," a must-read.]
