A LLL Leader in Mechelen, Belgium, uses to say in this kind of situation:
"It is said that less then 5 in 1000 newborn moms cannot breastfeed and they
all live in Mechelen!"

Sorry I don't have the statistics, just wanted to share this quote with you,
but logical thinking will lead to the conclusion that if so many mothers as
seem to be nowadays were not able to nourish their child, mankind would not
have been spreading around the world the way it did.
Unability to nurse the offspring does occur in animals, but is very rare. It
is counterproductive in survival of the species.
