I don't know if I qualify as a wonderful person, but I would like to
suggest plugging the February 2001 and April 2001 editions of Pediatric
Clinics of North America. The February edition covers breastfeeding trends,
details health benefits (mother and child), describes lactogenesis and
breastmilk composition, and even provides a historical context for
breastfeeding beyond 12 months. The April edition describes common
breastfeeding issues; infant health issues such as hypoglycemia,
prematurity, and jaundice (all in the context of breastfeeding); the Baby
Friendly Hospital Initiative; and several other topics.

One thing I think is particularly valuable from the April edition is
Appendix B, which includes a slew of resources for physicians. These
include websites, books for professionals (e.g., Dr. Hale's book), books
for parents, breastmilk banks, professional education resources, and
breastfeeding support organizations. I don't know if it'd be possible on
short notice to get reprints of the appendix into the hands of the
residents to whom you'll be speaking, but I think it'd be useful for them
to know about it.

Good luck with your talk!

regards,
Julia
