Of course no flames Ellen, we don't do that on Lactnet- vigorous discussion,
but not flaming!
I agree with you 100% that we need to support our orgs. I'm not a member of
ILCA but then I am not a lactation consultant and whilst I know that
non-IBCLCs can be members, it's not a full membership and I don't see ILCA
as MY org. I am however, an Australian Breastfeeding Association Community
Educator and I absolutely see it as my role to support ABA, both financially
and practically. Membership dues probably the least problematic way of
funding the activities of organisations.

If every IBCLC would join ILCA (or LLLLeader would pay up their dues) I am
sure there might be less pressure and financial strife. and OF COURSE I AM
NOT AIMING THIS AT ALL THOSE WHO DO SO MUCH AND DO SUPPORT THE
ORGANIZATIONS.and of course this is not aimed at Karleen, she just got me
realizing that many are not ILCA members. That goes without saying. we are
all too quick to criticize without coming up with a plan B.

please no flames.
Respectfully
Ellen Shein, IBCLC. LLLI
