Patricia,
     Thank you for your response to my post about the mom
with the very sore nipples.  I don't think that there are
any psychological reasons why she is having trouble getting
baby back to breast; however, your idea about lingering
nerve damage is interesting.  Considering the fact that
about 1/8 of an inch of tissue is missing from the ends of
both nipples, it would not be surprising that there could be
nerve damage.  Could you give me some more info on this?
How long does it take to heal?
     Thrush is also a possibility...she had a breast
infection within the first week and was on antibiotics.
Other than that, there are no risk factors.
     Sorry about the "WNL"...I got that from Jan Barger's
letter to physicians, so I assumed that everyone would know
what it meant..."within normal limits."
