Dawn: To quote Tom Hale: "Cheap All Purpose Nipple Ointment"
Some insights into your question about lactation infertility - 200 minutes/day
of pumping sounds like an awful lot to me for a 1 year old. Is baby also taking
solid foods? If so, he does not need as many ounces of milk as if he were
solely on milk feedings. Yes, this can be affecting her fertility, as her hormone
levels are probably still quite high. Maybe she could reduce the amount of
time she is pumping each day to begin to lower her hormone levels and give
her more time to spend with her baby. Her stress level is also probably quite
high in that she must be spread quite thin with her pumping and the time she
is spending in meeting her child's special needs. This is also affecting her
fertility.
