I relate to this problem as in my family women grow grey in their thirties -
I had my 4 kids at a young age so was not pregnant or lactating at that
stage but nevertheless concerned about the chemicals I would be using for
the next umpteen years.
Grey is actually quite attractive while the skin is young - and it depends
on the culture - in Israel anyone with grey hair must be old. But there
comes a stage when it does really make one look older although some of my
friends have gorgeous white hair.

The trouble with henna (and other natural-based hair colours) is that it
turns the grey to orange - when I tried it my kids asked me if I had eaten
too many carrots!
The problematic ingredient in regular hair dyes is phenyldiamine so if one
can find natural-based colours without that, then they are safer. It is not
the ammonia as popularly thought although many hair dyes have eliminated
this ingredient and call it "natural".

Any ideas out there from greying lactnets.
