This is merely anecdotal: WIth my first pregnancy I had horrible
morning sickness and threw up daily the entire pregnancy. Morning
sickness also continued for three weeks post partum. I didn't require
hospitlisations or medication (well I tried a couple but was allergic to
them so didn't continue) but still I was much more sick than subsequent
pregnancies. I was nursing my son when pregnant with my first daughter
and while I had morning sickness the whole time, I only threw up the
first half of the pregnancy. This most recent pregnancy, I was also
having nausea the whole but can count the number of times I threw up on
one hand. I was nursing my five and 2 1/2 year old through this
pregnancy. So who knows what it is, but each pregnancy is easier than
the last for me in terms of morning sickness so I'm hoping maybe with
the next I'll actually have it go away before the baby is born. With my
first daughter, I definitely had a slower let-down in the third
trimester but always had milk for my son. With this third baby, I
actually had my supply increase in the third trimeser which really
surprsied me.

Something also interesting is that to this day, I get a wave of nausea
when my milk lets-down and/or I get a hot flash as well. That has never
gone away. I have no idea why. I don't get periods for two years and
have gottne pregnant right away with only one period between kdis so I'm
not sure if that would change if I were to be nursing and cycling
regularly. Our bodies are so interesting aren't they?

Margo
