Hi Chrysta,
Welcome to Lactnet!

My response depends on how sassy I'm feeling. ;-) I might say, "Well, I didn't
ride in a carseat when I was a child, but I certainly use them for my own
children now." That illustrates that when we know better, we do better.

How about a little sarcasm -- "Yes, you have a point, we as a bottle-feeding
culture are remarkably healthy! Just look at our low rates of obesity,
diabetes, heart disease, chronic debilitating illnesses, autoimmune disorders,
cancer . . . Oh . . wait . . ."

I haven't used this one yet, but have mulled it over (it's way too long to
qualify as a snappy comeback though): "Do you know anyone who smokes? Do they
have lung cancer? Do you believe there is an increased risk of lung cancer due
to smoking? Would every single smoker have to get lung cancer in their first
year of smoking for you to believe that smoking is risky? Well, just because
many babies seem to turn out fine on formula doesn't mean that every baby does,
and it doesn't mean they'll stay fine. Not breastfeeding increases the RISKS of
poor outcomes -- it is not a PREDICTION of 100% poor outcomes." And depending
on how this was received, I might add, "Cancer is one of the things that
formula-fed babies have a higher risk of."

I have never thought of anything "zingier" but I hope someone else has, and will
share!
