My question is about the radio graphic drug Indiam/dtpa.
It was used on a patient to determine if the cause of her migranes was
leakage of the spinal fluid as a result of the epidural.
I shared with her Dr. Hales information from last week but the radiologist
said this drug is different and she MAY do great harm to her baby if she
breastfeeds before 3 weeks.
Baby is 5 months old and she has been sneaking feeding the baby because it
is the only way she or the baby can rest. She breastfeeds at night and
gives frozen milk previously pumped in the daytime.
The poor mom is feeling guilty, and angry with the Doctor who is testing
her milk but wont tell her anything except don't nurse. She was crying in
my office today.Very intelligent woman capable of making rational decisions
if given all the facts.
I am going to be out of town next week. Hope this response comes before 8am
on Sat.
TIA
Kathy
