Hello -

It has been at least a couple of years since I offered my Excel-based weight
loss chart and it looks like it is time to offer it again. In the past, I
have e-mailed the chart. I now have it posted on my website. The chart is
at the bottom of the first page. www.PohlHome.com.

The chart consists of 3 pages.

The first page is a reference guide that can be printed. You can enter the
percentage weight loss and a starting weight and the calculations are done
automatically.

The second page allows the user to enter a start and end date along with a
beginning and ending weight and will calculate weight loss or gain. There
is also a space to enter a parent's weight in case you want to make a
relative comparison.

The third sheet was developed using information from a talk given by Dr. Tom
Hale at the 2005 ILCA conference in Chicago IL. This sheet allows
calculation of the maximum time between pumping sessions while maintaining
milk supply. He stated his data was developed using a Symphony pump by
Medela.

Subject: Chart on acceptable birth weight loss

Is there a chart already in existence (on the Internet, maybe?) that
shows acceptable weight loss (10-12%) for newborn babies, before they
start gaining? I am looking for an easy reference tool to see at a
glance how many ounces a baby born at 7lb 12 oz (3515 g), for
instance, could lose. I have tried googling.

Thank you.
