Well, I guess I wonder why we would even question the weight gasin in babies who receive massage, since stress shuts down parasympathetic function in favor of sympathetic responses. I once had a client whose baby was growing very poorly--she returned home to India because he would receive daily massage there (it is routine) and when she returned several months later, he was robust indeed.
