I think Patricia brings up a very important point here.  A recent
example:  A mom I saw for previous babies is bf her third.  Baby has
eczema that has been unaffected by a maternal elimination diet and
recurrs after discontinuation of hydrocortisone cream.  The ped has
recommended substituting a casein hydrolysate abm for the breastmilk for
2 weeks.  When mom called to discuss this, I asked her if she had been
putting pressure on the ped to solve the eczema problem, and she
realized she had.  We explored the mother's fears about the situation,
and she realized that they could live with the situation a while longer
while they tried other solutions.
