...is the flip side of being tear-inducing to those who are holding back, waiting for a safe place. The fussy baby is looking for a safe place too (aren't we all?)

Have you ever noticed how often newborn babies who have been bathed, changed or just "stored" apart from their mothers, greet mother with a cry when placed in her arms? I have always explained that as a cry of relief on coming to the safe haven of mother with her familiar smell and sound, and a sign of babies' ability to just process everything as it comes along, being in the moment and lacking both future and past perspective.

Cheers everyone, I guess I'm back on line again!
