Hi Merete,
You are exactly right.
The mother can continue nursing on affected breast. The part that is not
functioning normallly will involute. She and you can observe that breast to
make sure involution progresses without mastitis.  You can perhaps help that
breast become more comfortable by applying cold compresses jor cabbage
leaves if needed.
