Debi,

Has your friend been in contact with the Triplet Connection? The e-mail
address is [log in to unmask] Their home page on the web is
http://www.inreach.com/triplets

The founder, Janet Bleyl, has contact with hundreds of triplet families,
and she encourages nursing. Lots of written materials and a nice
newsletter, too.

Also, if you want to search the Lactnet archives, there are posts on this
topic from November 18 and 19, 1995, (under "triplets" and "breastfeeding
triplets"), Jan 2, 1996 (under "triplets"), and June 18 1996 (under
"nursing multiples, including quads").

Your friend may also want to consider nursing two babies at once, then baby
3 on both sides afterwards, rotating the baby who is fed last. She will
have to be flexible and see what works best for her and the babies, once
she sees what their individual needs and personalities are. This may be
better than trying to force them into a predetermined plan. What I mean to
say is, a plan ahead of time may be helpful, but she should be willing to
adjust it to the needs of her babies and her family and herself as she
lives the experience, taking it one day at a time. I hope she is setting up
plenty of help. That, for sure, will be needed at home. We wish her well.
I hope you'll let us know how it goes.
