If you respond to this email with further information or a comment about the
idea, please do so PRIVATELY, to avoid unnecessary clutter on Lactnet.
Thanks.

A list of conferences should be easy to access, there are a number of places
where these can be posted, but a list of those sources could be compiled.
For instance, internationally, I find that the www.midirs.org site is
excellent and it's absolutely free (and not a commercial organisation). ILCA
charges to list conferences on their site unless you're an affiliate, so a
huge number of wonderful breastfeeding conferences aren't included.

We have always made the effort to include a list of international
conferences in our quarterly journal. As people like to combine travel and
conferencing we get lots of inquiries as I've done this international
listing for 15 years, and will put it online soon. However, the MIDIRS diary
is there now, and extremely professional and easily accessible.

As for resources - I like the spontaneity. When an issue is mentioned, it's
so useful to be given a website or source, just a brief note - not an
'advertisement'.
The listmothers have an unenviable task, but personally I can't see that
sending a timely URL or source is anything but useful, and far more relevant
than the long signature lines many use.

However, I'll offer to make up a list of all resources that are known to
Lactnet list members - NOT that you're in private practice, or that you rent
pumps, as I think that these are easily sourced..
but for anyone who has developed useful breastfeeding resources, or has a
business selling a breastfeeding resource (not your service).

It would be best if everything to be included could be accessed on a
website, or at the very least, by email, as it's an international list.

(1) Send me PRIVATELY the details in 25 words, with URL, internationally
accessible contact details.. (if you send to Lactnet, you'll be advertising,
and could be embarrassed, be careful !)
I'll prepare the list. Deadline: 10 March

(2) If you want to receive it, email me PRIVATELY with "Please send BF
resources list" in the subject line. Eventually, we might put it on our
website, a PDF file, and keep it updated annually.

(3) If you know of a good site with breastfeeding conference listings,
please send the URL only, subject "Conference URL".
(I'll separate into free and fee-paying.)
