"Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom" by Dr. Christiane Northrup (Bantam Books
1994) lists a variety of "conventional" and "alternative" treatments for a
wide range of women's health issues, including heavy bleeding during
menstruation. I would look there. It's a popular book: your library likely
either has it or can borrow it from an affiliate library for you--or you
could purchase it at any major book store.
