Dear Lactnet Friends:

Formula makes kids perform more poorly and drops their IQ.

When will a mainstream newspaper write an article from this perspective.
Suddenly I am very, very tired of the "breast is best" genre of writing.

Yesterday, a pediatric physician came with me to a clinic and I spent some
time talking about BF. I gave her a hard copy of the AHRQ meta-analysis on
the benefits of BF in developed nations, a copy of The Little Green Book (a
pocket sized book about BF written by a pediatrician) and a key chain with a
newborn stomach outline on it. I asked her to educate her patients about the
risks of formula and the risks of not breastfeeding.

One doctor at a time......

warmly,

Nikki Lee RN, BSN, Mother of 2, MS, IBCLC, CCE, CIMI, ANLC
craniosacral therapy practitioner
