Since we are on kittens.... A good friend of mine and a retired LLLL fosters kittens for a local shelter. She had one who became deathly ill while in her care. So ill that my friend thought she was within an hour of dying (she has being doing fostering for several years and has unfortunately lost enough kittens to be familiar with the death process). Not wanting the kitten to die alone she put the kitten in her shirt/bra (which she usually does for ill or very young) and sat one the couch holding it. Two hours later the kitten was still alive, but unimproved and my friend had to take her children to an event. So keeping the kitten skin-to-skin she took her children out and about for the afternoon, came home and continued wearing the kitten, slept in the recliner with the kitten in her shirt. The next morning the kitten opened its eyes and meowed and shortly after was willing to eat. The holding saved this kittens life.
