Hi, All: I'm a little behind on posts due to a busy week. Hale (2006) rates this
medication as an L4, but does not recommend against its use. He advises
observing baby for hypoglycemia. I always instruct moms to tell their
pediatricians the medications they are on, so that the ped can monitor baby
more closely for any untowards effects of the mother's medications.
If a mother needs to be on aspirin, for example, she should tell her ped this.
He may elect to periodically check the baby's clotting times.
