Dear colleagues:

Some time ago, I wrote an essay on the topic of "Unexpected Mothering" (online at: http://home.comcast.net/~ammawell/expectations.html). That essay actually began as a Lactnet post. Since then, I've been wanting to write more about the role of expectations in mothering. To help me do so, I'm looking for examples of times when mothering--including the experience of breastfeeding--didn't go as expected. If you or a mother you know might like to share your experience with dealing with the unexpected in the context of mothering and breastfeeding, please take a look at the "Current Research" link on the main page of my website, Ammawell (http://home.comcast.net/~ammawell). The deadline for submission is October 15, 2004.

Thank you very much!

Still nomail and missing Lactnet,

Cynthia
