Greetings:

I agree with Pat that this picture may not be a positive image of breastfeeding;
I don't think it was meant to be.  It's a wake up call...you know look what's
happening around the world, let's do something about it!!!!!

I would like to add a few things about the state of females in Pakistan.  Let me
first say that I am not Pakistani and have never visited Pakistan.  I do
however, have many female Pakistani friends who are loved, respected, educated
and well treated by their families.  Of course the reverse is true.  Many do not
fair as well.

I also have many female American friends who are loved, respected, educated and
well treated by their families.  Of course the reverse is true.  Many do not
fair as well.

In the case of this Pakistani woman, she received very bad information/advice
from her health care provider.  How many times have we seen this?  In addition
to this, the mother was also the victim of unethical marketing practices that
are in violation of the WHO Code.  How many times have we seen this?  Lastly,
this woman lives in a society that sometimes overtly demonstrates it's
preference for boys/men instead of girls/women.  How many times have we seen
this?

Women all over the world are suffering and excelling.  These are human issues!
