I think the key to most "insufficient" lactation is in Jack's phrase
"start...poorly".  Yes, there are women with insufficient tissue, it's
usually fairly obvivous, but I think most insufficient milk is the result
of poor suckling/poor emptying - on baby's part (for whatever reason) or
controlling time at breast early on, ie: mom decides how often and how
long. I think it is as simple as that!

As Jan says, something happened (br. inf.-maybe scar tissue built up and
replaced glandular tissue after the event, 3 rd baby had a high
palate-combination of 2 problems was deadly to her supply.) I think if we
look carefully it usually can be explained.Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
