I am not sure if this was discussed or not but I read the ingredients on
Gerber's new product- Gentle Moisturizing Balm to heal nipples. It says on the
packaging that it does NOT need to be washed off.. Many moms were calling me to
ask if this was a good product or not.

The ingredients are: petrolatum, caprylic/capric, triglyceride, canola oil,
silica, corn starch, c18-36 acid, glycol ester, butyrospermom parkii (shea)
butter, stearyl alcohol, c18-36 acid triglycerides, magifera indica (mango) seed
butter, retinyl palmitate, tocopherol, triticum vulgare, wheat germ oil.

Gerber contact information is 1-800-4-GERBER
<A HREF="http://www.iblce.org/ ">www.gerber.com</A>

I cannot believe this product does not need to be washed off. What if a mom
put it on right before feeding? Is the FDA a place to contact? If this is
ingested by the baby wouldn't it need their approval?

Thanks,
Annette Leibovitz, IBCLC
