Just to add a bit of anecdotal info - my midwife recently told me about
this device of which I had never heard. I have used low dose prog. only
pills before when I was nursing but am dreadful at them because you have
to be so exacting when taking them. Take it one hour later today then
yesterday and you have breakthrough bleeding. Definitely not the most
convenient for the mother of young children.

My current nursling is 2 1/2 y.o., still nurses 5 times or so in a 24
hour period. I have a very copious supply - in fact still having
trouble with plugged ducts. Given those circumstances I wasn't too
worried about a slight loss in supply. My midwife said she had a good
bit of experience with the ring and had not has any of her patients have
significant supply reductions.

Anybody squeamish about self insertion it is pretty much like a small
diaphragm (but only the ring part) - biggest problem is not shooting the
thing across the room before you get it in place ;)
