The babies here are often treated with reglan due to reflux. One of my very
slow weight gain babies was being treated with Reglan and Cimetidine

Mom reported a diaper rash so terrible that even cleaning the baby with cotton
balls caused bleeding and a hysterical baby. She went through a ped, 2
dermatologists, then saw another ped who suggested that these strong adult meds
should not be given to babies - and she stopped them. Baby's skin improved
immediately. Reflux was not improved, she felt, when she gave those meds
anyways and she is very upset at not being told this might be a side effect of
these drugs.

As both drugs were started and stopped at the same time, I don't know which
caused the rash - but yesterday another mom came to me, baby on Reglan, her anus
looked very red and sore (though not as described by other mom). Is this
something we should be aware of as a frequent side effect?
