I was wondering if anyone else had seen the ad linked below for garmastan ,
or if anyone knows anything about this product's efficacy.

Garmastan
Ointment used in the prophylactic and therapeutic treatment of the nipple
inflammation during the pre and postnatal period and in the care of nipples
skin during lactation.

Active substance of Garmastan is guaiazulene, oil extracted from the
guaiacum tree. The curing and therapeutic properties of this substance have
been known for centuries by the inhabitants of South and North America. This
knowledge was used for creating Garmastan ointment which contains the same
natural guaiazulene extract. Garmastan cream keeps the skin on nipples
elastic and supple, preventing the development of small cracks during
lactation. Garmastan melts at body temperature, is odourless, fat free and
therefore it is easy apply on sensitive skin and easy to wash off.

Composition
Guaiazulene 0.05 g.
Excipients for 100 g ointment PEG 8, PEG 75, sorbitol, sodium
metabisulphite, cetylpyridinium chloride. 

 

Indications
Prophylactic and therapeutic treatment of nipple inflammation during
lactation.

Posology and Administration
Garmastan may be easily applied on the nipples and areolae after each
nursing period. For sensitive skin use a sterile napkin with a thin layer of
cream. Garmastan may be used before the lactation period. It should be
applied on clean skin, beginning with the eighth month of pregnancy in order
to prepare the nipples for the mechanic action which will be exercised upon
them during lactation.

Special Precautions for Storage
To be stored at a temperature below 25°C.
Do not exceed the expiry date on the outer pack.
Do not leave within the reach of children.
